                                          Who I Help

My clients range from older kids (usually 9 or older), adolescents, and adults. I enjoy helping clients of all ages, though preteens and adolescents are my specialty.  Clients come to me feeling unmotivated, tired, and unsure of how to help their situation.  Through our work together, clients become encouraged, energized, and aware of what to do next to improve their lives.

My Experience as a Therapist

My training as a therapist began almost 20 years ago and I’ve been a licensed psychologist since 2010. For the past 11 years, I’ve helped children, adolescents, and families while working at the Austin Child Guidance Center.  In that time, I’ve conducted individual and family therapy, led therapy groups for teens, oversaw the admission of new clients to the center, and provided supervision for newly licensed therapists.  I’ve left the center and have started my own practice to continue to help children, teens, and adults.

My Professional Credentials

I obtained my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and my master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Texas Tech University. I completed an American Psychological Association accredited doctoral internship with the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. My training has led me to treat children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of inpatient and outpatient facilities, including community outpatient clinics, college counseling centers, and multiple inpatient facilities for children and adults. I have been licensed to practice psychology in the state of Texas since 2010. My work focuses on evidence-based practices that have been shown to be effective in helping clients, particularly the use of cognitive-behavioral therapy.

More information

I’m a native Austinite and have great love for the city. I was a Maroon at Austin High School back when Austin was more of a large town than a medium-sized city. I am a board member for the Capital Area Psychological Association and have worked in that position for nearly 10 years.
